Dr VJ is a distinguished, licensed acupuncturist and clinical neuroscientist specialising in acupuncture. He holds a Doctorate in Neuroscience and Acupuncture and brings over 18 years of clinical experience to his practice.
Originally from India, Dr VJ's passion for healing and helping others led him to the United States. Across more than 18 years as an Acupuncture Physician, he estimates that he has treated approximately 25,000 patients worldwide. His clinic now sits at the heart of Maitri — where warm, personal care meets serious clinical expertise.

Neuropuncture is a specialised system of neuroscience-based electroacupuncture. It applies modern knowledge of the brain, spinal cord and nervous system through carefully selected, established acupuncture points.
Developed by Dr Michael Corradino, this advanced acupuncture system may combine acupuncture needles with gentle electrical stimulation to engage specific neurological pathways. Its clinical framework is informed by the principles of neuromodulation, neuroregulation and neurorehabilitation.
At Dr VJ's Acupuncture Clinic at Maitri in Woolton, Liverpool, Neuropuncture is provided by Certified Neuropuncturist Dr Arun Vijayan. Each acupuncture treatment plan is individually developed following consultation and consideration of the patient's presentation and clinical needs.
Dr VJ has completed postgraduate training in Neuroscience Acupuncture with the Neuropuncture Foundation in the United States and holds a Doctorate in Neuroscience & Acupuncture.
He continues his professional development through advanced Neuropuncture training with Dr Michael Corradino, including anatomy-based educational sessions held at the Miami Anatomical Research Center (MARC Institute) in Florida.

Jess offers neuroscience-based acupuncture through Dr VJ's Clinic. She is currently working towards a Graduate Diploma in Neuroscience Acupuncture, building upon her existing acupuncture qualification.
Jess is a qualified massage therapist with Level 3 qualifications in Anatomy & Physiology and Sports Massage. Her experience includes sports massage, deep-tissue massage, myofascial release techniques and the NADA five-point auricular acupuncture protocol. She is also a Level 3 qualified personal trainer, bringing a broad understanding of movement, physical wellbeing and holistic care to her practice.
Her person-centred approach combines acupuncture with an understanding of the nervous system and is tailored to each client's preferences and general wellbeing goals.
Jess also offers Tap to Regulate, combining therapeutic tapping with neuroscience-based acupuncture in a calming, person-centred session designed to promote relaxation and general wellbeing.
